Michael Silverstein, PhD

Michael E. Silverstein, Ph.D., is an Assistant Director at Rowan University’s Counseling and Psychological Services Center. Prior to that, he served for eight years as Senior Psychologist and Training Director at Temple University’s Tuttleman Counseling Center. Michael has served as Clinical Coordinator and Acting Director of partial hospital programs in Connecticut and at Belmont Center for Comprehensive Treatment in Philadelphia. His areas of special interest include brief treatment of stress and anxiety related problems utilizing cognitive-behavioral, systems-oriented and solution-focused interventions. He enjoys working with couples and groups, having persued specialized training in these areas, and also takes a keen interest in psychotherapy training and supervision, which includes constantly learning and growing from his work with student interns. He is a licensed psychologoist in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and holds the Certificate of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and other Substance Use Disorders from the American Psychological Association. He completed his clinical internship at the Temple University, received his B.A. from Brown University and his M.A. and Ph.D,. degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Connecticut.
