Teresa helps her clients feel seen, understood and empowered. She sees her role in the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst to help increase awareness and trust to support freedom of expression, insight, and healing.
In therapy sessions, Teresa works in collaboration with individuals and couples to identify areas that are inhibiting quality of life and focus on building existing strengths and new skills. Teresa believes that each individual is an expert in their own lives and has the strengths and potential to actualize the change they want to see.
Based on the unique needs and preferences of her clients, Teresa may use a combination of approaches, including art therapy, Gottman Method (for couples), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), parts work, and existential therapy .
Teresa’s specialties include depression, anxiety, relationships and communication, self-esteem, Acquired Brain Injuries (including TBI, stroke and concussion).

Experience and Training
Teresa has worked in private practice, non-profit and hospital setting with individuals facing a wide range of difficulties. She is the former Director of the Kardon Center for Arts Therapy at Settlement Music School.
Teresa is trained as a Licensed Professional Counselor and graduated with a Masters in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has completed Level 1 Gottman Training.
