Meet Dr. Silverstein

Dr. Silverstein is co-owner of Main Line Counseling Partners and a licensed psychologist with over 30 years of experience helping individuals and couples thrive, develop and grow. 

Areas of Special Interest

Dr. Silverstein strongly believes that his clients are the experts in their own lives. He works with them to set specific, achievable goals and provides specific skills.  

 

As human beings, we often already possess the solutions to our own problems without realizing it, and are unable to access or apply those solutions due to specific barriers such as anxiety, lack of resources and support, or simply not yet knowing how.

Advanced Training and Professional Background

Dr. Silverstein transitioned in 2016 from part-time to full-time practice at Main Line Counseling Partners after retiring from Rowan University’s Counseling and Psychological Services,  where he served as the Assistant Director and Training Director. Prior to that, he spent eight years as Senior Psychologist and Training Coordinator at Temple University’s Tuttleman Counseling Center.

 

He has also held positions as Clinical Coordinator and Acting Director of partial hospital programs in Connecticut and at Belmont Center for Comprehensive Treatment in Philadelphia. 

 

Dr. Silverstein earned his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut, his M.A. from New York University, and his B.A. from Brown University. He is a Level 3 Gottman Method couples therapist and is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of PA with permission to practice online in most states. He possesses APA Certificate of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcoholism and Psychoactive Substance Use.
