When people experience major life stress, it can begin to feel as if their lives are unraveling along with those closest to them.

Dr. Prato understands how to help people heal, with a keen understanding of family dynamics and human relationships.  She is Board Certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Couple and Family Psychology.

Dr. Prato’s Child Psychology Training

She has spent her career helping children, adolescents, and families find more happiness. She supports her clients in making changes in their lives, with specific emphasis on helping people to build and strengthen their relationships, both with family and with the outside world.

She has expertise in child psychology, family therapy, parenting skills,crisis management and psychological assessment. She has extensive training and experience in Theraplay, applied behavior analysis and clinical assessment.

Dr. Prato has worked in a variety of settings, from outpatient services, partial hospitalization programs, and residential treatment facilities. She was employed by Devereaux Advanced Behavioral Health where she provided services to adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in a residential setting. In addition to her fulltime private practice at Main Line Counseling Partners, she also conducts psychological testing and evaluations for Bucks County Juvenile Probation and the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center in Philadelphia.

A graduate of Chestnut Hill College’s Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Prato specialized in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Dr. Prato’s Couples Therapy Experience

Dr. Prato uses the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy and is working toward certification. She has particular interest in infidelity recovery, premarital work and co-parent counseling. She also has conducted research with couples involved in a remarriage with the aim of developing a treatment model to specifically target the unique needs of many of these couples.

She is also an active participant in professional organizations including currently serving on the Colleague Assistance and Early Career Psychologist Committees of the Pennsylvania Psychological Association.
