Suzanne Riley, M.S., LPC, believes in treating her clients with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. She has a naturally warm, empathetic, and interactive style, and provides all her clients with unconditional positive regard and acceptance.  Suzanne individualizes therapy to meet each client’s needs according to the changes they want to make. Her approach is to build strong and therapeutic relationships that will help her clients lead well-balanced and happier lives.

Suzanne uses evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).  She works with adults and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, relationship issues, parenting issues, sexually problematic behaviors, addictions, and trauma. Additionally, Suzanne uses these techniques to work with clients who are struggling with personality disorders, including but not limited to antisocial personality disorder, borderline personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder. Furthermore, Suzanne has experience helping parents improve parenting skills and communication with their children.

Suzanne provides reunification counseling for those who need to reconcile with children in their life. This allows for a safe place for both parties to explore any thoughts and feelings about reconnecting with loved ones with a professional to provide structure and security. Some examples of reunification include parental alienation, changes in custody agreements, and siblings coming home from a long term care facility.

Suzanne earned her Master’s degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Counseling and Clinical Health Psychology with a clinical focus in Addictions and Offenders Counseling. Suzanne is a Philadelphia native who has worked in the community for six years as an outpatient psychotherapist with children and adults, and a residential psychotherapist with adolescents. Suzanne treats the whole person while empowering individuals to meet their individual goals.
